About Marisa
My favorite question I get asked daily is "Why did you want to become a teacher?" Honestly, it chokes me up thinking about my "why". Let me tell you my "why".
I wasn't exactly the most studious kid growing up. In fact, I was a C-average student for most of my high school life. But on a day I remember thinking... "If I can manage to try hard for one exam, then I won't be a failure." So I put a bunch of effort in, staying back after school with my teachers for an hour, multiple times a week. Until one day, I was in year 12, taking my final exam and thinking,
"The teachers who supported me throughout my HSC journey. I love and respect them so much. I love the person they made me into. I want to be them one day"
Those teachers turned me from a C-average student to a 90+ ATAR student. Although it might not be doctor level of impressive, for a hopeless student, I want to introduce that hope back into their lives. I want to create a safe environment where they feel proud of their hard work and grades.
So, as your teacher/tutor, my goal is to push you to feel proud of yourself.

I can do both online and in-person classes. The in-person classes can occur at your house or at any public area near public transport.
I'm a secondary teacher in training, so I can directly apply teaching methods I learn throughout my degree. I am qualified to teach a broad range of science from years 7-10 junior science, to more specialised HSC/Preliminary subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Science.
I can also teach Uni Chem 1 and Chem 2, attaining high distinctions in both classes.
