About Cheng-En
I am not a professional Chinese teacher. But I have joined the volunteering education programme (Ofund) this summer, teaching Chinese to the primary students in a remote village in Yunan China. I have also taught my cousins Chinese when I have holidays. In my class, everyone participated and got involved, so they were happy to pay attention to my lesson and had a great passion for learning.

Hello, my name is Cheng-En Hsieh. I am a native Chinese speaker. I am from Taiwan. But I have lived in mainland China for more than 10 years. So I can use both simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese. However, I am more familiar with simplified Chinese. I am currently a second-year student studying at the University of Edinburgh. I am happy to teach students at any age. I can teach beginner to medium level Chinese.
I will try to create an environment to encourage students to speak Chinese and write Chinese. Practice makes perfect. I believe language has to be learned by keeping saying and writing it. In the meantime, I will also try to add some games and activities to increase student's passion for learning.
