About Kane
As a second-year student at the University of Oxford, my secondary school days are not far behind me, all of my knowledge and technique on how to score highly in exams remains and has been refined by my years in academia. I was in a very similar position to any student studying for my A-levels and GCSE's and so I know exactly what is needed to ace an exam. This helped me gain my place at Oxford as well as multiple internships and work placements related to the field of biology. My knowledge of biology is detailed and comprehensive, covering the A-level syllabus and beyond helping to contextualise any knowledge to help increase memory retention. While I am young I am also eager to teach and help a tutee grow their understanding of the field of biology so that they may prosper in their education.

I use active recall to improve knowledge of the subject area and past paper questions to build exam technique with personalised input to fix any areas of weakness in understanding. To receive top marks on any exam an advanced level of understanding is needed of how to word answers and convey key ideas, which is why one of my main focuses is how to structure an answer. A typical lesson can range from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours as I believe this is the minimum time needed to build a basic level of understanding of a topic without stretching the attention span. To gain a place at oxford I needed to understand and perfect my exam technique and subject knowledge, which has also been refined in my two years at university. As I understand what the examiners want to see I am able to guide a tutee through the topic expanding their knowledge of GCSE and A-level equivalents courses.
