About Hettie
I have been studying Latin for 9 years and Classical Greek for 6, but I have loved Classics for far longer than that, and spreading this love and making this subject more accessible is very important to me. I am going to study Classics at Oxford this October, and I received an A* in A Level Latin, Classical Greek and English. My particular interests in Classics are Latin poetry (my favourite poet is Catullus) and the history of the Late Roman Republic!

When teaching both Latin and Greek from the very basics, I will take a slow, systematic approach, working up from the alphabet to basic grammar, and then to slightly more advanced structures. There will also be regular informal vocab tests and the occasional grammar summary test (sorry), but I can tailor these to the individual pupil's workload and abilities! I will also do my best to make lessons more fun by exploring linguistics on a wider scale and talking a little bit about the mythology, history and literature tied to the languages we are learning.
