When I first met Neta in our online classes, I had had several years of studying Spanish and a pretty good grasp of grammar and could read it ‘Ok’ but had no confidence at all in speaking or having conversations. From the very beginning, after assessing my strengths, weaknesses and confidence level, she tailored our weekly sessions to a comfortable increase in conversation about daily life, until slowly my awkwardness and fear of conversing capably faded away. She is patient, she’s capable, she is down to earth. Additionally, she offered suggestions for reading, watching films, ideas for music-listening, and so on. She has the perfect blend of professional tutor and sweet friend who welcomes the new kid to her cafeteria table.
I also appreciate that she is a real human being & not a computer program. After all language is one of the building blocks of relationships between people & cultures; who better to teach ‘to that relationship’ than another person. I appreciate her!
