About Ruqayyah
Hi, I'm Ruqayyah!
I'm a qualified English educator with a Master's degree in English Education and years of experience teaching and tutoring learners of all ages and levels.
I love to teach English. It doesn't matter if you're working on reading, writing, grammar, or exam preparation, I'm up for it.
Proofreading and copy editing are also some of my hobbies, so I have a sharp eye for the details that make writing clear, correct, and confident. Many of my students have gone on to improve their grades, nail their exams, and feel genuinely good about their English.

Every learner is unique, so I don't believe in adopting one-size-fits-all teaching. My approach always combines building of confidence, targeted practice exercises, and goal-focused learning. I assess what level each student is at, identify the gaps, and design our sessions around what they actually need. The lessons are interactive, encouraging, and always tailored to the individual.
Learning sessions typically run for 60 minutes, although 90-minute lessons are available for students who need deeper work on essays, exam preparation, or proofreading projects.
I hold a Master's degree in English Education from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor's degree in Educational Management. I have hands-on experience as an English language instructor, private tutor, and copy editor/proofreader, working with learners across different levels and contexts.
My lessons are open to all levels, from little beginners building basic English skills to advanced learners who are polishing their academic writing or preparing for exams. I work with children, teenagers and adults, including university students, working professionals, and anyone who is looking to improve their written or spoken English.
